Antique 10k Gold Framed Cameo Pendant With Gold Filled Chain

Cameos actually began as souvenir pieces. Artists in Europe would hand carve them from shells and sell them to tourists to make a living. This shell cameo dates back to somewhere between 1910 - 1920. It is set in a 10K Gold frame that is marked on the top of the bail with 10K. The filigree around the side of the frame is incredibly beautiful. The chain is not original to the pendant but they go together flawlessly. The chain is marked 18K GF (gold filled) and dates to the 1970s. This is a rare piece that would make a wonderful gift to yourself or some one you care for.
