Rare Victorian Sterling Silver Lorgnette Eye Glass Necklace

This is such a rare piece I can barely believe I'm holding it. Victorian Lorgnettes became very popular at the end of the 1800s into the early 1900s. Women who needed help with their vision had no desire to wear spectacles. This was a very fashionable alternative that allowed them to see things without compromising their style. The chain on this incredible piece is all sterling silver. Two glass lenses that sit inside the frame are in excellent condition. It finishes with a sterling thumbless clasp in the back.
